The Open Sound Control protocol is a network protocol to control Musical Devices and instruments. If you are unfamiliar with it, think of it as the idea of MIDI, with a higher data-rate and distribution via network instead of DIN-cables.
It is around since more than a decade now, and is becoming more and more popular in the last time thanks to WiFi-connected touch devices.
